Product Description

The appRacer is ‘off road buggy’ style and works together with the unique ergonomic peripheral (as used with the Appcopter) that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch and a selection of Android smartphones into the most intuitive RC device ever!

Simply plug the peripheral into your media device and use the DPAD (traditional remote control) or the built in accelerometer to control the buggy’s movements. Download your free app and drive the digitally proportional car using your Phone or Touch as the remote control.

The peripheral unit is charged using a USB charger so no batteries are required.

iOS compatibility
Make sure you have the right handset. This works on the iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and iTouch 3, 4 only. Best performance is found on devices that have a gyrometer. it does work with the iPad 2 and 3 but has not been graphically optimised.
Make sure you are running at least iOS 4.3. This can be found by looking at the Software version on the summary of your device in iTunes.

Getting started
Please always refer to the instructions before driving both in packaging as well as in the app.
Make sure both the peripheral and racer are fully charged. This is indicated with the LED on the USB charger going on once charged.
The peripheral is full plugged in to the headphone jack. You may need to remove covers for your phone.
The peripheral suckers work only on non-flat plastic surfaces so cases may need to be removed before applying to your phone.
Make sure the peripheral and appRacer are switched on. For the peripheral it will be indicated by the red LED and for the copter by the switch being in the ON position.
The peripheral needs to be connected so that the LED section (red plastic at the front) is pointing generally towards the top of the appRacer.
Do not put your fingers over the LEDs on the peripheral.

Handset specs
Make sure you have the right handset. This works on the iPhone 3GS, 4 and iTouch 4 only. Best performance is found on devices that have a gyrometer
Make sure you are running at least iOS 4.0. This can be found by looking at the Software version on the summary of your device in iTunes.
If the racer is not moving when you are using the motion controls then make sure there is no interference with your compass. (3GS only)

Applications
The application is free on the store. Type appRacer or apptoyz into iTunes search to find the application for controlling the appRacer.
The racer detects band but you can change the one you are using in settings. To complete the pairing you may need to turn the throttle to max and then nothing 3-4 times before it fully registers.
If the racer does not drive straight when just applying throttle then you can adjust the trim to make sure that the driving is completely level.
If you crash always set the throttle back to Neutral.

Other things to be aware of
If you change band be sure to turn the racer on and off before you try to pair with the app again.
We recommend driving the racer in airplane mode to avoid interference from calls and texts.
Do not drive in extremely sunny conditions.
If the motion controls are too sensitive adjust them in the settings.
